Courtney (she/her) is a therapist trained in the evidence-based treatments for OCD, BFRBs and Tics, including Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, HRT and the ComB model, and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT). Courtney completed her graduate internship with Dr. Patrick McGrath at Alexian Brothers Hospital, one of the most well-respected training facilities in the country for training in CBT and ERP. Courtney is also trained in Prolonged Exposure therapy for clients struggling with various forms of trauma. Courtney works with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages to provide care for OCD, BFRB's and Tics.
Additionally, Courtney has lived experience of someone who knows what it’s like to struggle with OCD. She understands the distress, discomfort, and shame associated with the different subtypes of OCD, namely contamination, harm OCD, hit-and-run OCD, and religious scrupulosity. With Courtney’s personal and professional experience with OCD, she can empathize with clients throughout their journey to recovery. Courtney believes that recovery and growth are not a straight line but a process of accepting & allowing obsessions to be there even if it is uncomfortable. Courtney has a passion for helping those overcome their anxiety and mental health struggles. While you work with Courtney, she will use an integrative approach, to provide a unique experience to meet clients where they are at.
Courtney received her degree in Master of Social Work from Aurora University in Illinois, where she specialized in clinical psychotherapy. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in Texas. She is a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado, Texas, and West Virginia.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with friends. Courtney loves spending time with her nieces and nephews when she is not working. Courtney has two dogs, who are her fur-children. Courtney loves to read, listen to podcasts, watch crime shows, and documentaries. Courtney values personal growth and investing in one’s self-care.
