Treatments That Work

Welcome! If you or your child are struggling with OCD, Anxiety, Tourette, or Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors, change is possible.

Beyond Borders CBT is dedicated to the evidence based treatment of these disorders and we look forward to providing you with compassionate care. We offer individual, group, and couples therapy.

We have clinicians licensed in Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, & West Virginia and see patients in various countries around the world. For those who do not speak English or Spanish we will gladly coordinate care with a professional confidential interpreter.

Why Choose a Specialist?

Similar to specialties in medicine, such as dermatology & cardiology, mental health has specialties as well.

Unlike general therapy, sometimes referred to as "talk therapy", the treatment methods we offer require specific training and expertise. It can be difficult to find a therapist that matches your treatment needs and is a good fit for you as an individual. We welcome the opportunity to connect and explore if we are a good fit. For a 15 minute no-cost consultation, please fill out the contact form, call, or email us.

Areas of Specialization

OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is not a funny way to describe your friend who loves to clean or a disorder all about hand washing. For many, it is a debilitating issue that is often misunderstood, leaving the sufferer feeling alone. While we cannot promise you a cure, we can offer you hope and a better way of living through evidence-based treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT).

Tics & Tourettes

Sniff, blink, head jerk, humming. These are just a few of many different motor and vocal tics. Have you heard of CBIT (Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics)? CBIT is an evidence-based treatment for tics and Tourette Syndrome and considered a front-line treatment. There are less than 350 CBIT clinicians worldwide and we are lucky to have 8 of them.

Learn how you can significantly reduce your tics through CBIT.

Trich & Skin Picking

Body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), including hair pulling and skin picking are more common than you might imagine. ComB, Comprehensive Model for Behavioral Treatment, can help you or your child implement cognitive, behavioral, or environmental changes to increase awareness, reduce the behavior, stop fighting against the urge and create healthier patterns.

Take the first step toward reducing your picking and pulling.

Anxiety & Related Disorders

Anxiety is a normal human emotion. Anxiety, in and of itself, is not a problem. Yes, you read that correctly. Anxiety is not the problem, but it's our relationship with this emotion, and the thoughts and behaviors around it that cause us the biggest impact. If you experience Anxiety, Panic, or Specific Phobias, you can learn to navigate your anxiety like never before. It's time to take back your life.

Learn how to make peace with your anxiety.

Words cannot express my gratitude for Ashley. I found her during a time in my life when my whole world felt like it was turned upside down due to my anxiety. Having never experienced symptoms like this before, I felt completely lost. Ashley has a very caring and nurturing personality that helps put you at ease during your first conversation with her. Not only is she accepting, non-judgmental and totally approachable, she also knows what she's talking about. While having your best interest at heart, she helps you build the tools you need to overcome the thoughts and anxieties you're experiencing to help you move on with your life. Quit looking for a person to talk to about your anxieties. You found her. Ashley is your gal.
